"3 Pairs Beckett Simonon Shoes"
Ordered 3 pairs of shoes Feb 29, 2020, received 6 months later September 5. They went for quite a ride from Columbia, Florida, Texas, Chicago, New York then into Europe. Yes, the CCP Virus was behind the 3 month delay. At one point I was close to writing off the purchase after this much time. Communication was just OK.
What does this mean? Measure and measure again, be sure. Yes there’s a return offered but in my world it isn’t possible. Better a tad big than small. They don’t come in extra wide or narrow so you need normal fitting feet. Mine fit perfect though!
I bought 3 pair totaling $495 with free post INSIDE the US, $175 postal to Europe then import tax of $85 but I knew what I was getting into. If you live inside the US would say you can’t get a better shoe, consider yourself fortunate to be there. They don’t ship Internationally so I had to ship them to my postal address in America then to Europe, this is a big negative.
I’ve never owned really nice shows before. I was in the $11 to $35 bracket so I can’t compare one brand to another on the higher end. However, the reviews were very good for Beckett Simonon overall. I looked at many reviews in the $500 to $750 and none were any better than these. I’m sorry but a Goodyear welt doesn’t justify an extra $300 vs the Blake stitch and a few imperfections.
Shoes fit to size, each came in a nice black box, foam shoe pad, coupon, manufacturer pitch, quality shoe bags but no shoe horn, not even a plastic one.
I purchased shoe trees for each pair, bought Saphir shoe polish and loaded them up with a beautiful mirror shine on the toe caps.
This was my experience from start to finish with Beckett Simonon. Yes, I highly recommend these shoes and I’d like to get some boots and sneakers from them some day.
I don’t own an automobile but do own a tan pair of Durant Oxfords and when I took a pair for a 4km walk there was no break in, comfortable soft leather and people were looking.
